The crossing

Tera

TERA — the crossing in Swahili

No. 267

150 x 120 cm
Gold, silver, rust, ochre red.

TERA
In itself, it is.
He crosses.

This table is a threshold.
A light shone on the memory of Aladdin,
young boy from Bukavu in Congo whom the war
Taken from us too soon, like so many others.

But this is not a painting of mourning.
It is a song for the living who continue elsewhere.
It's an ark for all those we have loved.
and who may already be waiting for us on the other side.

The ochre red whispers of spilled blood.
not as an end, but as an offering.
Gold and silver speak of promises.
From an invisible but very real kingdom.

God does not abandon his children in the dust.
This painting suggests a larger plan.
more tender, bigger.

TERA is a sacred passage.
A journey of hope.
A work for those who have passed away.
and for those who still believe in beauty after the night.

Assignment

This painting has an active mission of consolation.
It is dedicated to Aladdin's family, especially his mother, to help her through this terrible ordeal.
They live in the heart of a conflict, without security, with heavy medical expenses after the attack that claimed the life of their son and injured several relatives.
TERA is a sign, a support, a gesture of love.
That's my way of saying:
You are not alone.
We haven't forgotten you.
We believe in life, even after chaos.

Vision

TERA is part of a diptych:
its light extends into a second painting called

MOYA — the breath.
A work supported by a chalcedony stone carved by Yvette, a neighbor of the family in Bukavu.

These two works are offered for sale:
The funds will be entirely donated to support medical care, the family's urgent needs, and give them a new lease on life.

🌟 By acquiring this diptych or supporting this initiative,
You don't leave with a painting,
You are offering a passage.
You, too, become a bearer of crossing.
