Table No. 250

July 2024

In the depths of darkness, a vibrant force bursts forth. Powerful reds, bursts of orange, shifting hues that pierce the gloom: I té mba (it almost needs to be sung), it's that moment when hope becomes resistance. Where everything seemed frozen, an energy surges forth. Red here is not anger—it is courage, the life force, a fighting spirit of brotherhood. Pink, discreet yet ever-present, softens the pain. And this light, flickering between fire and gentleness, reminds us that hope is not passive: it is a flame to be nurtured, a silent cry that persists, even when all seems lost.

Assignment

The fragile hope of street children

This painting bears the invisible faces of children who dream of leaving… without ever truly being able to escape. Living on the street is often the only family they have ever known. Bonds are forged there—made of survival, pacts, and shared stories. Leaving the street sometimes means betraying those who protected you. Yet, as soon as someone reaches out to them, their eyes shine: they want to learn, to grow, to exist differently.

Through this artwork, 10% of the proceeds are donated to concrete actions for these children whom I have supported for nearly three years. Because sometimes, a single gesture is enough to keep the flame alive.
