Joy and gentleness
Naäeem
UnYk 239
120cm/100cm
September 2024
Painted in October 2024, in the aftermath of a wrenching experience, this painting was born from a need for gentleness. After the violence, the injustice, the dispossession, it was necessary to create something that breathes… and that soothes.
Naäeem is a silent promise. A refuge of off-white, old rose and pale pinks, traversed by an almost winged structure – like a bird silhouette without being one.
Within this form, a turquoise arisone vibrates like a hidden heart, a presence.
It's a painting that doesn't shout, but it holds its own.
A painting that chooses tranquil light, even amidst the chaos. It belongs to the "Whites" series, painted when everything had to be rebuilt from here in Switzerland, after the looting, the illness, and the choice to stay.
Naäeem is sweet joy, the kind that is not naive, but that resists.

Assignment
Naäeem was born in a time when everything seemed to be collapsing.
But through her, a decision was made: to continue differently. From Switzerland, in silence, in depth, so that the children and survivors can still believe in a tomorrow.
The sale of this painting supports essential actions: setting up stable structures for abandoned children, ensuring care, minimum security, a future for women who have already rebuilt everything once... and who must, again, start over.
Naäeem does not come to repair, she comes to support. She carries within her the chosen joy, the one that is offered, that heals, that allows others to rise again.
