Yaay Réew

Title:

Yaay Réew – Mother of the People

Wolof – Senegal

Artwork number: UnYk 280

Format: 300 cm x 200 cm

Date: August 2025

Techniques: Memory Matter, noble pigments and chameleon pigments

Stones:

1 Aquamarine and

1 pink tourmaline cut by Akiba from DRC trained in Tanzania.

Immense like the horizon, she stretches to cover the wounds of the world.

Within her arms, scattered souls gather — the invisible ones.

Cracks become veins of light; fractures turn into paths of healing.

YAAY RÉEW is the mother who watches.

The one who protects in silence, who holds unspoken pain.

Mission

Yaay Réew embodies the living force of the land in Togo.

Her mission is to gather people, root them in the earth, and restore their capacity to build, cultivate, and live with dignity.

Through this work, support becomes action:

each acquisition directly contributes to the development of an ecological village in Togo — where land, knowledge, and resources are transmitted to rebuild lives.

She transforms broken paths into fertile ground, where life can grow again — through work, transmission, and shared strength.

She is not only protection; she is foundation, regeneration, and economic empowerment
